In my opinion, I feel that the monkey is a super selfish monkey. There are heaps of 'nanas' around but he chose to concentrate on the one inside the bottle which require much effort to retrieve it. I guess it relates to our walk with Christ. We tend to concentrate on our needs or our wants; neglecting the needs of others or things are more important in the eye of the Lord.

My interpretation is close to yours, "See the BIG picture or you'll miss out on lots." "Let go monkey!"

My ulterior motive in creating this picture is to show two kinds of situation we humans face.
firstly,
humans are greedy. They are not easily satisfied. Just like the monkey, he is not satisfied with the heaps of the banana it has around itself. It still wants to try its best to get the banana in the bottle! how dumb is that?
Often, people always complain that they do not have enough of certain things, but yet, they actually are very provided for already. How many times have we thank god for something that he gave us? How many times have we complained to god for not having a better version of something we already have? Be satisfied and you will see that life is not that terrible after all.
Secondly,
The banana depicts the problems that we face in our daily life. We forget that we have a mighty god above who is there for us. We hold on to our problems and not release it, making ourselves trapped and miserable.
